Mrs Green
I am a long time supporter of the Green and Sustainable lifestyle. After being caught in the Boscastle floods in 2004, our family begun a journey to respect and promote the importance of Earth's fragile ecosystem, that focussed on reducing waste. Inspired by the beauty and resourcefulness of this wonderful planet, I have published numerous magazine articles on green issues and the author of four books.

Sunday Roundup
It’s Sunday again and we’ve shared lots of new things on our site this week. The beginning of each month is a busy time here at Chez Green where we announce winners, launch new competitions, sort out upcoming discounts, shame another dustbin demon and set up a new challenge. What’s new on the site: We […]
Zero waste meals and cornstarch packaging
As our official ‘zero week’ challenge is only two short months away, I’ve declared today a Zero Waste Meals day. Breakfast was home made yogurt; yep I dusted off my new machine, quietly stepped aside my procrastination while it was still asleep and made yogurt. We had that with fresh raspberries, blackcurrants and apples. Delicious […]
Win a copy of The Green Food Bible with Hippy Shopper
We’ve talked a lot about food waste recently on My Zero Waste. According to our poll, 38% of you have a considerable amount of food waste going into your bin every week. According to WRAP’s Love food, hate waste campaign we throw away around a third of the food we buy every week in the […]

They’re tiny, we don’t give them much thought, but I wonder how many of them we collectively ‘throw away’ across the globe? I’m talking about those tiny, thin plastic strips that attach labels to things. I don’t even […]

Weekly weigh in number four
This week’s weigh in is what’s technically known as a ‘bit of a balls up’. To begin with we had a week and a half rubbish, as we were away for some of last week. Me being me, I smugly believed I would be showing off today with hugely reduced amount of waste, and a […]
And the winner is……..
I’m so excited (yeah) and I just can’t hide it (yeah); I’m about to lose control and I think I like it. This is the post I’ve been champing at the bit to write. We have a winner to announce! I’m so happy that I can’t help but do one of my famous happy dances. […]
July’s monthly competition – win a bokashi bin!
Happy July everyone! Welcome to our second my zero waste competition. Each month we’ll bring you an exciting prize that will focus on helping you to reduce your own landfill waste, increase your recycling and slim your bin. Last month we launched an ageist, sexist and youthist competition, as Grandma Green was quick to point […]
