Mrs Green

I am a long time supporter of the Green and Sustainable lifestyle. After being caught in the Boscastle floods in 2004, our family begun a journey to respect and promote the importance of Earth's fragile ecosystem, that focussed on reducing waste. Inspired by the beauty and resourcefulness of this wonderful planet, I have published numerous magazine articles on green issues and the author of four books.

Making yogurt

Since beginning our zero waste challenge, we’ve been left with a bag of plastic each week to put out for the landfill. Everything else can be recycled or reused. I realised that around a third of that landfill waste over the past couple of weeks has been yogurt pots! We get through one large pot […]

Inspiring rubbish champions

Yesterday I promised I would talk about some people who are doing their bit to reduce the amount of rubbish they send to landfill. There are two people in our village for example, who put out virtually nothing for the rubbish collection each week. They don’t write a website about it, talk about it or […]

A little recycling retail therapy

Sugar and spice

Wednesday is ‘Wednesday box’ day here at Chez Green. Can you guess what Wednesday box is? It’s the day when Little Miss Green gets to choose something treaty from her Wednesday box. It used to be a Friday box, for reasons that are really over and beyond necessary to explain here.

Everybody’s talking rubbish

This is what I love most about our zero waste challenge; everybody has something to say about rubbish! From our neighbours, to shop keepers, to checkout girls, to friends and even perfect strangers, everyone has something to say. We’ve had an amazing response when we’ve explained to people what we are doing. Even those who […]
