sunday roundup july
It’s Sunday again and we’ve shared lots of new things on our site this week. The beginning of each month is a busy time here at Chez Green where we announce winners, launch new competitions, sort out upcoming discounts, shame another dustbin demon and set up a new challenge.

What’s new on the site:

We announced the winner of our June Competition and launched a new one for July.

We’re really excited to be offering one lucky winner a bokashi bin, courtesy of those gorgeous people at Natural Collection. Natural collection have won the prestigious Observer Ethical Awards for Best On-line Retailer, for the third time this year.

And well deserved it is too. All of their products are independently vetted by an environmental expert for eco friendliness.
The only greenwashing you’ll find at Natural collection is a range of environmentally friendly household cleaning products.

Come and join in the fun and be in with a chance of winning your own bokashi bin.

As July has crept upon us, we’ve launched a new challenge for you. Step up for the second month’s challenge. During June we asked you to simply become aware of the recyling faciities on offer in your area. If you’re ready to embrace the second step, then find out just what is expected of you this month.

We wrote about another dustbin demon this month. Find out which tearaway we lifted the lid on for July.

There is still time to bag yourselves a bargain with Onya bags. For a limited time, you can get 15% off any purchase from onya bags – get your mitts on a range of reusable shopping bags on our discounts page.

What’s new on our blog:

On Monday, we shared another confessional. We’d been away on holiday in Devon; find out just how much landfill groaning rubbish we generated in our time away.

On Tuesday I shared a top secret way to keep your salad lasting fresher and longer. Doing this one small tip can save lots of yummy salad leaves from going to the compost bin and will save you money too.

We had our weekly weigh in number four this week. Read all about Little Miss Green’s dramatic bloody hands and find out whether we lost or gained weight this week.

We heard from our friends at Hippy Shopper that they have managed to get hold of five copies of the fabulous book ‘The Green Food bible’ to give away to lucky readers. Find out how to be in with a chance of winning a copy yourself.

I declared Friday a ‘Zero waste meals‘ day. Did we starve or feast like kings? And just what is the deal with cornstarch packaging?

New zero waste articles:

We have heaps of new website content being added all the time. So do pop along to the site if you’re an RSS reader and check our our latest content.

Discover our top five tips for reducing plastic bread packaging in your life.

Do you actually use your BT directories or Yellow pages anymore? If not, find out how to stop them being delivered to your home.

That’s all folks. Thanks for a great week and have a wonderful Sunday xx
