Big Scott from Radio Cardiff

I was invited for an interview by “Big Scott” at Radio Cardiff this morning.

He dedicated the entire show to zero waste week and invited me to talk about the week.

Scott was moved after seeing photos of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. He also explained how he was unsure how to answer his daughter when they were out walking and she asked him why people threw things on the ground as litter.

Not only that but every track he played on the show had something to do with waste, recycling or the earth. We were treated to “Recycle it!” by Tim Sparrow, “Bottles and cans” by Angie Stone and “Gonna change my way of thinking ” by Bob Dylan. What incredible attention to detail!

Throughout the show Scott talked about many of the issues facing consumers regarding waste and recycling, shared tips and ideas as well as some interesting history lessons. He shared links to people up cycling waste into art and furniture and invited listeners to call in with their suggestions.

Take some time out of your day to listen to the show. I’m on at around 43 minutes, but listen to the whole show if you can – it’s full of great stuff. Scott has a big heart and is clearly passionate about being kind to the earth as well as being part of the solution…
