I want to share the link love with a couple of fabby posts on the blogosphere today.

First up is Kristen over at ‘The Frugal Girl‘. She has shared a brilliant tutorial for making bread rolls. They look absolutely amazing and if I ever manage to produce rolls that look half as good as those I will be doing some serious happy dancing. I mean, just look at them? So professional looking I can almost smell them from here.

I have made rolls once; once was all it took to give up forever. Mine were a cross between rocks and bullets. I wouldn’t let Little Miss Green near them lest injury should follow or the sound of breaking glass should haunt my dreams. Maybe once zero waste week is over we should set ourselves a challenge to make Kristen’s bread rolls – what do you think!?

The second post is over on Di’s ‘Path to Greendom‘. On her blog today she shares some of her thoughts about recycling and talks about the fact that reducing is what we should all be focusing on. We need to PREVENT the problem happening rather than try and deal with it afterwards.

Following our post yesterday about Sainsbury’s way of handling food waste, we couldm’t agree more. Why not pop over, have a read and share your thoughts……

Have you seen any great posts or stories on the internet today?

I don’t know about anyone else but by trying to get zero waste I find that my recycling has gone down too – quiet amazed actually. Just goes to show it’s about choices.

That’s excellent news, Mrs J. We are going to tackle this at some point too. Reduced waste per se is the answer I feel; especially with the uncertainty about recycling and incinerators.

Hey Mrs G thanks for the shout out! What a penny drop moment that was! We all get so into recycling we forget the other R’s especially the REDUCE! Just making the switch to reducing food waste has reduced my waste considerably, as you already know I skipped putting my bins out last week 🙂 I think I could actually do MONTHLY collections for landfill/recycle trash right now. Maybe a personal challenge for February? I can’t say the same for the yard bins as I tackle the beast I call “our jungle”. lol!

Mrs Jackson is right our recycling has gone down too!

@Di Hickman: You are so welcome, Di – you know I love seeing what you have been up to on your blog. A monthly waste collection would be fab! I’m planning a ‘no unnecessary spending’ month; but I always baulk out after a couple of weeks 😀
