winner-isWe ran two competitions last month. The first was to win a signed copy of Tracey Smith’s “Book of Rubbish Ideas

Oh my; this was *such* a difficult competition to choose a winner for. Not only was it one of our most popular competitions, with loads of entries, but all of the answers were fabulous.

To remind you, we asked “what tip would you give to a complete novice who wants to reduce their rubbish? In the end we chose this answer from Dizzy:

My suggestion to a complete novice would be to get hold of, read, and stick on the wall by the bin, the local council’s list of what items they collect kerbside for recycling. I think this is a realistic start to reducing landfill.

It’s simple, it’s easy to do and it should get results!

Well done Dizzy; your book will be winging its way to you soon! We hope you enjoy it.

Our second competition was to win some hand made, fair trade, organic, zero waste chocolate during chocolate week from the lovely people at Cocoa Loco– phew! We asked you to tell us about your favourite zero waste indulgence.  And what a load of pleasure-seeking junkies you are!

Again, there were loads of fabulous ideas and you had the three of us discussing this one for hours. In the end, Little Miss Green, hug-monster extraordinaire, chose Nicky Benton as the winner. Nicky shared her favourite zero waste indulgence as:

My favourite zerowaste indulgence is a skin on skin cuddle with my 3 year old. nothing makes me happier than a loving hug and its the best feeling in the world.

And so say all of us!

Congrats Nicky – now you can enjoy some guilt-free chocolate with your gorgeous three year old too!

Look out for our next competition; to win a copy of the hilarious Pete May’s “There’s a Hippo in my cistern”

Well done Dizzy and Nicky, great concise tips 🙂

How utterly synchronous – I’ve just got the aforementioned Hippo book out of the library!

  2. Huge congrats to the winners…and what a lovely lovely heartwarming zero waste suggestion. Hugs all round are the best thing ever! I can fully recommend Pete May’s book and urge people to enter, it is so funny, it had me laughing out loud through the entire read. I did an interview with him a few months ago and even his answers were funny. It really is a top read 😀 x
