Ecover - the power of nature

We’re shining our company spotlight this time on Ecover.

Most people will have heard of Ecover as their products are marketed in over 20 countries. Ecover are the world’s largest producer of ecological detergents and cleansing products.

Now in their 28th year, Ecover’s range of products are based on sustainable plant and mineral ingredients, which help you limit the chemicals in your home and the environment.

Ecover were the pioneers of phosphate free detergents, long before anyone else had thought of it or believed that phosphates could be harmful to the environment.
Their products come in recyclable packaging. All their plastic bottles are PET1 and some washing powders come in cardboard boxes or paper board sacks.

Ecover also offer a refill service. To find out if there is one near you, enter your postcode into their database.

Ecover has received awards and recognition on many occasions for its special contributions and achievements in the field of environmentally sound, sustainable development. Perhaps the most prestigious recognition was being named to the Global 500 Roll of Honour of the United Nations Environment Program, which was awarded to Ecover as early as 1993.ecover cleaning kit

In May of this year, Ecover launched a 3 year partnership with WaterAid working with communities in Ethiopia.

The partnership will focus on the area of Hintalo Wajerat in the Tigray region where only 22% of the population currently has access to safe water and just 6% have access to adequate sanitation. More shocking is the fact that 17 out of every 100 children will die before they reach their fifth birthday. On completion of the project 14,750 people across eleven villages in the region will have access to safe water and effective sanitation.

Ecover are offering one lucky winner a Jute bag containing a selection of Ecover’s cleaning products and two bamboo cleaning cloths during our Pledge and WIN competition.
