Mrs Green

I am a long time supporter of the Green and Sustainable lifestyle. After being caught in the Boscastle floods in 2004, our family begun a journey to respect and promote the importance of Earth's fragile ecosystem, that focussed on reducing waste. Inspired by the beauty and resourcefulness of this wonderful planet, I have published numerous magazine articles on green issues and the author of four books.

Mrs Green gloats over her glut

Filed in Blog by on October 20, 2008 11 Comments

Day three passed uneventfully, apart from the shocking scene where Little Miss Green declared I made the best rice pudding in the world and she gave it a ‘twelve out of twelve’. This is quite a credit as until now I have never been able to make it ‘as nice as the yellow stuff you […]

Zero waste food challenge, day three

Day two of our zero waste food challenge went really well and I have to admit to feeling pretty smug by the end of it. We had to pop out a couple of times and I just knew that if we weren’t doing this challenge, I would have ‘topped up’ on a few unnecessary items. […]

Blog Action Day – focusing on Poverty

Filed in Blog by on October 15, 2008 4 Comments

In support of Blog Action Day, I’ve found myself thinking about Poverty; which is this years theme. The aim of Blog Action Day is to raise awareness, start a global discussion and add momentum to an important cause. This year’s theme ties in well with our own zero food waste challenge.

Zero waste food challenge, day two

Ok, so I’ve taken a peek into the fridges and cupboards and it’s pretty scary in there. I really didn’t think we wasted that much food, but for immediate disposal I found:
