raebirthday2011Here we are again with some great green stories from around the ‘net.

From reducing litter to making your own facial toner you’ll find it all!

Litter picking

Good Girl Gone Green has been pondering about people who leave litter.

She wonders whether they realise how much harm it can do to the environment and shares how she and her daughter were taking part in The Great Canadian Shore Cleanup.

Herb vinegar

Herb vinegars are wonderful for salad dressings and marinades. They also make great zero waste gifts for foodies.

Alicia shows step by step how to make your own herb vinegars on her Eco Friendly Homemaking blog.

Homemade skin toner

The other week we shared a recipe for homemade cleanser.

This week Lynn from Funtastically Green is sharing her recipe for homemade skin toner.

It only uses two ingredients, so be sure to check it out!

  1. Julie Day says:

I picked up a can from outside our driveway yesterday. Am tempted now and then to pick up other recycleables that I see wasted on pavements.

  2. These are great tips and thank you so very much for including my herb vinegar in this post!! I am now off to check out how to make your own skin toner.

  3. The Canadian shore clean up reminds me of a fantastic artist, John Dahlsen, who litter picks his somewhat warmer Australian beaches and creates amazing abstract sculptures from his findings!
I did a structured litter pick at Lepe nature reserve not so long ago and the things I found horrified me! Ive never been a litter bug but I cant even walk past litter any more without having to pick it up; I always carry a plastic bag or two just in case I come across some hideous mess, or my friends decide to leave one!
