Mrs Green looking the part

Mrs Green looking the part

When I was a teenager there used to be an advert on TV for “Impulse” body spray. The tagline was ‘When a man you’ve never met before suddenly gives you flowers …”

Well this week a man I’ve never met before sent me clothes!

Yes, dear readers, today, the lovely John Shegerian, CEO of Electronic Recyclers International  (Largest Electronic Waste Recycler in the United States no less), sent me something to wear in the post.

I’ve now got my ‘uniform’ for when we do talks and presentations thanks to him!

He sent some of his ‘Green is Good’ t-shirts with his branding on one sleeve and ours on the other. Yay!

Green is Good‘  in case you’re not up to speed, is America’s No. 1 green radio show which airs for an hour a week and is hosted by John along with his buddy, Mike Brady. They interview ‘green people’ from around the world including individuals and organisations. At the end of September I was thrilled to be invited to appear on his show along with Andy Hobsbawm from Do The Green Thing.

Andy’s site aims to inspire and educate people to be more eco-friendly. They use multi media to highlight seven key areas of every day life. You’ll discover how to choose low carbon transport, how a change of diet can reduce your carbon footprint as well as tips on savvy shopping to reduce waste. Do the Green Thing have a facebook page with over 2000 fans, as well as over 20,000 twitter fans!

If you want to keep up to date with John’s latest news, they have a fantastic blog over on his 1800recycling blog with juicy posts such as How to turn basic office equipment into camping equipment,  new ways to reuse old paper and even breathtaking monuments made from old bicycles.

Take a listen to our interview with John and Mike here and let me know what you think!
John is an amazing host – he is so enthusiastic and generous with his time and energy. Sit back for 20 minutes and take a listen. By the end of the programme I promise you will be smiling as John’s enthusiasm is utterly infectious.
