Help support our site with an exclusive recycled shopping bag during WRAP Recycle week

ReSACKel recycled bags for sale!
One of the pledges for WRAPs Recycle week is to use your own bags instead of taking disposable carrier bags.
Giving up plastic carrier bags was one of the first things we did here at Chez Green when we decided to challenge ourselves to a zero waste lifestyle. It’s an exciting pledge because I know from experience, that this tiny step led to a greater awareness. That awareness led us to reducing more waste. And that led us to putting out, on average, less than 100 gms of landfill waste per week.
If you’ve pledged to ditch the carrier bag, please remember to sign the petition over at Greenhouse neutral to ban the plastic bag. Then let us help you attain your goal!
We’ve got our mitts on some exclusive reusable shopping bags. Not only that, but they are recycled – made from old Chinese rice sacks to be precise. So they are great for the environment; favouring reuse over landfill. Currently, we are the only people in the UK selling ReSACKel bags, and all profits are going towards a new server so that My Zero Waste runs faster.
We were selling them in packs of three, but to celebrate WRAP Recycle week, these bags are now available to buy singly at just £5.50 with free UK Delivery.
It’s a win-win! We help you to help the environment (and look very cool in public with your exclusive, swanky bags) and you help us generate enough money to run a server, which in turn helps you to have a better online experience!
If you can’t wait a moment longer, then head on over to our shop and start bagging yourself a bag.
In the meantime, here are some comments from satisfied customers:
Just wanted to say a big thank you for the stylish Resackel bags, which arrived this morning. I can’t wait to go shopping now. I’m even considering giving one to my friend for her birthday. Although once she’s seen it she won’t be able to resist buying more herself. What a great idea to sell these bags in order to raise funds for a faster server. Keep up the good work.

Just to say thanks the bags arrived this morning. Love the designs.
One will be kept for using when we go to the beach as these will be ideal and it won’t matter if a little sand gets in as can easily be washed.

Thank you so much for my bags Mrs. Green. They arrived last week whilst i was on holiday and I’ve already had to give one to my friend who nagged me to death until I did!! They will be very useful to put in my handbag for all those odds and ends I seem to pick up on my travels.

I had six bags. They are wonderful! I had intended to give some as birthday presents but they are so versatile that I shall soon not have a spare one left. I have used them for taking things to the pool on holiday, for storing knitting wools and patterns, for taking books back to the library, for carrying my granddaughter’s treasures around, as well as for the obvious task of shopping. Look forward to the new fast service!
I have one of mine tucked in the glove box in the car so i always have a bag when out and about.
I have also noticed that our local SPAR has stopped handing out free carriers as is since June 1, and are selling some jute bags, for use/reuse instead
@Grandma Green: Glad you are enjoying the bags! The comments have all been favourable so far; I think they are popular because the designs are unlike many other bags available here. To have something that is waterproof is really useful too.
@maisie dalziel: Hi Maisie, glad the bags are useful for you as well. And how interesting to hear about Spar. I’ll have to look into it; I’m not sure where our nearest one is.
I already have loads of jute bags (I instigated a design competition in our school about 18 months ago, and we had 200 made from a local company, Go-Jute in Cornwall), so I’ve got some of those, and lots of other reusable ones picked up here, there and everywhere, but I’ve just ordered one of your re-Sackels, the Mai Thai design which I thought was quite cool.
Keep on, keeping on with the anti plastic campaign!!
@Carole: Awww, thank you Carole – it’s packed up and in the post. Should be with you by the end of the week 🙂 I hope you like it!
