Back to the good old days

I LOVED receiving my post this morning. Not just because of the contents, but you know how good packaging gets my juices flowing.
Just look at this photograph! It contains three issues of the fabulous Sustained Magazine, edited by the equally exquisite David North.
Sustained is a free magazine, and you really should try and get your mitts on a copy.
My copies arrived swathed in brown paper with their tumbling curls hanging freely from the sides. How gorgeous they looked and how I jumped up and down with glee at the lack of landfill waste. Not an ounce of plastic in sight and I can even slip the magazines seductively from their stylish outerwear and reuse it.
Written by passionate people who care about creating a positive, sustainable future; each edition of Sustained magazine is packed with inspiring articles.
You can get hold of Sustained through some organic vegetable box schemes, shops, farmers markets and libraries throughout the UK. If you can’t find it for love nor money (or for bartering a pig or two), then you can help support the magazine by subscribing.
The magazine is uplifting, rather than preachy, with realistic and workable solutions to rebuilding communities and living a more sustainable life.
Why not ask your local library to stock it? If you are in a position to distribute the magazine yourself, you can order it free through Suma.
And if that isn’t enough excitement for one day, look out for Issue 10, available in mid June, where I’ve been asked to contribute a piece about home education.
Right, that’s me done for the weekend. I’m off out into the sun clutching my copies of Sustained to my bosom to see what the public says about food waste and how we can reduce it. Should make for some insightful reading!
Sustained is fab and you’ve summed it up beautifully Mrs G. I think David will be pleased with his description too. I love the online version, but there’s nothing quite like getting your hands on a physical copy and passing it around your friends:-D x
Ooh, there’s an online version too?! π
That’s fab!! I was planning to ask if they ship internationally! π
Love the lack of plastics!
I subscribed to this after looking at some of the online ones,
It will very nicely replace the Organic Life magazine which ceased publication a while ago.
Enjoy the subscription, Maisie. I find the articles to be particularly well written and informative. Wasn’t it a shame about Organic life? I used to love that magazine.
