I am a long time supporter of the Green and Sustainable lifestyle. After being caught in the Boscastle floods in 2004, our family begun a journey to respect and promote the importance of Earth's fragile ecosystem, that focussed on reducing waste. Inspired by the beauty and resourcefulness of this wonderful planet, I have published numerous magazine articles on green issues and the author of four books.

6 Ways to Reduce Food Waste

I wanted to revisit the topic of food waste because stories during lockdown made me realise that people still don’t understand the value of food. At the beginning of the pandemic, there were stories in the press about people stock piling food and supermarket shelves were empty. A few weeks later, there were stories of […]
Eight ways to enjoy a guilt free coffee fix!

We have an agreement here at Zero Waste Towers that I don’t speak to my husband until he’s had his morning coffee! He only has one cup a day, but that cup is the difference between a good and bad day for him. So I’ve learned to keep out of his way until he has […]

I promise it’s not that difficult, especially with younger children because firstly, most children are naturally caring – particularly about animals or the environment – and secondly, younger children will generally just […]
How to Furnish your Home the Zero Waste Way

I don’t know about you, but when spring arrives, it makes me want to change things around a little here at Zero Waste Towers. While we don’t necessarily feel the urge to do a deep spring clean like our ancestors did, there’s something about tidying the place up, throwing open the windows and decluttering that […]
We’ve been growing microgreens!

How is life treating you at the moment? Are you locked down during the covid-19 pandemic or are you a front line key worker? It’s certainly an interesting time for all of us, where the whole world is focused on one thing. There aren’t many situations in which that happens for sure! But there have […]
