One of our readers, Joddle wrote to me about ‘green’ blogs.
She said “My zero waste is one of my favourite blogs but as I can’t get enough of zero waste reading I’m looking for more sites to satisfy my cravings.
Any chance readers of the site can start a thread about good eco blogs to read?” Joddle says she is “specifically looking for ones like Mrs G’s which don’t just rehash news found elsewhere.” She goes on to say “It can be hard to find blogs that are as interesting as this one to read. I’d be especially interested in reading ones from a UK perspective.”
What a great idea! I love a good blog to read but alas I don’t get much time to peruse the internet as I’d like to.
So over to you, dear readers – which green blogs do you love to devour? Don’t be shy – if you run one yourself, then share it in the comments below!
Part of my personal decluttering mission has been in the cyber world too, so I don’t have many blogs left in my RSS reader. However, from the UK I read the following:
Organic lifestyle
Julie runs Organikal and is a committed organic enthusiast. She lives lightly on the planet by growing food, is working towards going off grid and is weaning herself off supermarkets.
Sustainable living
Brigit Strawbridge has such a wonderful, compassionate energy. She blogs about bees, permaculture and sustainable living. She doesn’t blog often, but is very active on twitter.
Home cooked food
Sue, over at the Quince Tree, shares beautiful photos about her daily life. She’s not ‘eco’ per se, but is on a zero waste mission and has some gorgeous recipes to share.
Green Living Review
Michael over at the Green (living) review has the energy of 10 people. He blogs several times a day on all things eco and provides thought provoking posts.
Reducing waste
One of our readers, Sooz, runs ‘The Last biscuit’ which is her adventures in reducing waste. She shares great posts about how she swaps product for another in order to be more sustainable.
And of course my list would not be complete without wonderwoman, Mrs A over at Rubbish Diet who still finds time to pop in a blog post from time to time and the lovely Tracey Smith; our favourite downshifting expert.
Both these ladies are more active in their local communities and via social media so check out their twitter and facebook profiles to keep up to date with their latest ventures.

This is a great list of green blogs for me to check out from now on – thanks. Apart from yours the other ‘green’ blog that I read is The Zero Waste Home – http://zerowastehome.blogspot.com/ – which has lots of inspiring ideas on reducing waste.
I’m also new to blogging but have been so inspired by your efforts and sense of humor. I also think fakeplasticfish.com is a great site to visit with all sorts of insights into zero waste and living without plastic. If you have the time, please check out our family’s efforts to tackle zero waste initiatives both at home and in the remote Himalayas. Both efforts, with 2 young trainees (ages 5 and 7) in tow, have informed each other beautifully. We have much to learn from indigenous cultures that have not forgotten how to live closer to the Earth. I have a blog http://thegreenattraction.com, it is fairly new (almost 6 months running) and is based in the US. However, I try and incorporate information from all over the globe because I have readers in countries other than the US.
I like to think of my site as much more than a green site. I provide daily tips, information on how to properly dispose of an item, polls, random blurbs, and much more. My mission is to give the everyday person some tips on how he or she can make steps to become more green in their lives, without sacrificing who they are. =]
