The best Mother’s Day present …. Ever!

Did all the Mothers on the site have a wonderful day on Sunday?
I was given the best zero waste gift you could imagine!
Yes, Little Miss Green, who clearly knows Mama Green only too well gave me a book of vouchers.
The were for gems such as
‘I will polish the kitchen cupboards’
‘I will clean the bathroom (but I’m not doing the toilet)’
‘I will not speak for 1 hour’
‘I will clear and polish the sideboard’
and so on…
The booklet came with instructions that I could only use each voucher once and that I could cash a maximum of 2 in on any one day. I love a girl that knows her terms and conditions.
How could I resist cashing in one of my vouchers on the very day itself? I chose one which said “No arguments or rudeness for a day” Wow, what a day! My best mother’s Day ever, by far…
And for a woman who never polishes her kitchen cupboards let alone her sideboard, I’m really looking forward to those juicy gems. Let’s hope she puts a reusable cloth into action and doesn’t ask for some kitchen towel instead. It’s a shame I don’t have any silver really…
What about you? Did you get a lovely gift or a heart warming moment? And what about our Earth Mother, did you remember to spoil her rotten too?
So glad you had a lovely day!
Our Mother’s Day is in May, so I’ll have to wait a bit 🙂
What good ideas LMG had for gift services! I smiled at the one about staying quiet for an hour!
I’m so glad mrs g that LMG as turned out to be so thoughtful, in this day the age, when mothers normally do the giving, what a great idea,(the cards) it’s a pity more people don’t think to celebrate the greatest mother of all, in may ,like generations before us, for this wonderful world we live in, or am I just being foolish?…maybe mankind would treat her better if we did….
I bought my mum a new handbag, which she wanted. I am sure when her old one falls apart she will put it in a textile bank. Afraid to say that the card I bought her had plastic round it, so not completely zero waste.
How lovely 🙂 Children are the greatest gift, aren’t they?
What a star!!! I had cards from the boys made at school. My eldest also gave me a note entitled “something to make Mum happy” in which he promised to practice is recorder twice a week 🙂 we then went to the garden centre and they brought me a dwarf Rodidendran for the garden… 😀
How lovely 🙂
The kids all hand-made cards & pictures so keepable or recyclable eventually 😉 DS (8) had made loads of really nice things in sewing club and dd1(5) had made a bookmark at school. I LOVE reading so that will get use almost indefinitely. I got breakfast in bed and a meal out in the evening.
DH had been meaning to get me some flowers but our plans with friends over-ran hugely on Saturday and so he didn’t get chance. Which is fine 🙂
Awesome job Little Miss Green! I love your Mothers Day coupon gift idea. Your Mom is lucky to have such a cleaver and considerate daughter.
I had a long mothers day on Friday I got a beautiful bunch of red spray carnations (my favourites) which at the end of their life can be put into my compost bin,a bottle of bubblebath (bottle can be recycled) some bath bombs in paper bag,and a lovely set from the body shop in a bag that I had to pull apart to recycle unfortunately only the paper could be put into the paper bag but we reused a gift bag and will be reusing it again.
@Jo: She knows me too well about staying quiet for an hour LOL! Most of our arguments are about my need for space and solitude instead of babble…
@Stephen: Although I love being on the receiving end of my daughter’s gratitude, it might be better if we all gathered together and remembered Mother Earth. Still, Earth Day is coming up so we’ll see what we can do 😉
@Julie Day: Finding cards without plastic is difficult isn’t it? but the pressie sounds fab!
@Abi: Indeed they are; I love their innocence and how their hearts are just bursting with love 🙂
@Kelly: Sounds lovely Kelly – love the idea of recorder practise!
@LJayne: All the hand made stuff is so special and what a great choice with the bookmark 🙂
@Kathy: Thanks Kathy, I’m so blessed 🙂
@Penny: sounds like the perfect pampering gift, Penny – enjoy!
