Copenhagen summit is failing. You can help change it in 5 seconds

I’m indulging myself in a slightly off topic post, but this is something so important it mustn’t be missed.
It’s not long to go before 110 world leaders arrive for 60 hours of direct negotiations in Copenhagen.
It’s viewed as a make or break situation about climate change and with your voice, we have the power to get leaders to act for a real deal.
Avaaz are calling on every one of us to to create the largest petition in history which will be delivered directly to leaders inside the Copenhagen summit.
Real deal for Copenhagen
Avaaz, along with your help will be asking presidents and prime ministers to suggest fair, ambitious and binding goals for a real deal. It calls on rich countries to finance poorer countries and to stop catastrophic global warming before it’s too late.
Experts agree that without a tidal wave of public pressure for a deal, the summit will not stop catastrophic global warming of 2 degrees.
The campaign already has over 11 million supporters, Avaaz want to reach 15 million – let’s make it the largest petition in history in the next 72 hours!
Take 5 seconds to change the future
Every single name is being read out at the summit so leaders will have no doubt that the whole world is watching.
Millions watched the Avaaz vigil inside the summit on TV yesterday, where Archbishop Desmond Tutu told hundreds of delegates and assembled children: “We marched in Berlin, and the wall fell. “We marched for South Africa, and apartheid fell. “We marched at Copenhagen — and we WILL get a Real Deal.” Copenhagen is seeking the biggest mandate in history to stop the greatest threat humanity has ever faced. History will be made in the next few days.
How will our children remember this moment?
Let’s tell them we did all we could.
Don’t just read this, ACT!
Please take a moment to sign the Avaaz petition for a real deal in Copenhagen.
