sunday roundup 31Welcome to our first winter Sunday roundup. It’s a cold -6 out there at the moment, but we’ve warm and cheery hearts to share with you, and a big roaring fire helps too.

Not much to write today, as we had a week off over Christmas, but we did get a couple of posts up last week.

On Wednesday, we had our post Christmas weigh in. Find out how much waste we created during the festive season.

On Thursday we welcomed in the new year by reminding you about Gloucestershire’s zero waste week challenge. Find out when it’s taking place and read through our very own Chez Green rubbishy new years resolutions for 2009.

On Friday we did something we haven’t done for six months! Find out what we were up to this week.

Over the next few months, we’re going to be revamping the site, so be sure to let us know about the bits you like and the bits you’re not so keen on. You can vote in our poll. We have about 70,000 hits per month, but only 31 of you have stepped forward to tell us what you think – don’t be shy; leave your votes or put a comment in below!

Don’t forget, there are opportunities a-plenty to join in with our latest discussions, or you can browse our ever-growing articles section for advise and inspiration, and if you’re bored of hearing what I’m up to, then we know of 15 other garbloggers who might just capture your fancy with their trials and tribulations of living the zero waste way.

Have a fabulous week and stay warm!

  1. Mrs Green, 70,000 hits/month is a fantastic figure. It just shows your popularity. Winter is a time for ‘hibernating’ and long lies are indicated. That may explain the quieter period of posts.

The downside to January to December targets is the cold weather and darkness. A summer bin taking-out is a more comfortable experience, sometimes a pleasure in the early morning sunshine. Mine is around April, by chance, 4 1/4 years hence. It is great to have the choice of date, a perk of Zero Waste.

    Hey the gorgeous Greenies!

Only a shortie to say this is a lovely kick-off to the New Year and I’m delighted to see you want to grab it by the balls (Christmas shiny balls of course you norty people)…

Looking forward to seeing how much trashy butt we can collectively kick in 2009 dear friends.

Must be off, tea is calling!

    Love to all,
    Respectfully yours,

Hi John, I have to admit, we’re amazed at how many hits we get each month! It seems people like to hear us talk about a load of rubbish :/ I’m sure taking our bin out on a sunny summer morning would be much more pleasurable; perhaps we badly planned things!

    Hi Tracey,
Good to see you my lovely friend and Happy New Year to you too. We’ve taken down our shiny balls and put them away for another year and I’m rather enjoying the space. Here’s to another rubbishy year – with your track record, you’ll have the whole country looking at their waste 🙂

Hiya missus! Glad to hear about the safe dismantalation of your shiny balls old bean and that’s all my hopes in one sentence old bean.

Get yer nose in yer bins and reduce em!

    I like that….

Have a nice evening old bean – just penning a piece for tomorrow about my radio show – tune in if you can – I’m giving away free Odeon tickets and goodie bags…xx

  5. Hi Mrs Green,

My first hot bath with muscle-easing foam-bath bar from Lush was a big improvement on the previous plastic bottle offering. After cutting a 1/10th piece off and softening in the hot water there was plenty of foam and a spicy aroma. After a shampoo bar hairwash all I need now is the coal tar soap to have a 100% Lush experience.

I have had no disappointments,so far, with the products and the Zero Waste aspect is a big plus. Metal Lush containers would be a good addition to their range, for home storage.

  6. Mrs Green says:

Lovely to see you Tracey. I missed the show, but hope all went well.

John, that bath sounds divine. I could do with a hot aromatic bath right now. I’m so pleased you are enjoying this range of products so much and LUSH continue to improve their product range and packaging 🙂
