American Chemistry Council’s blog summit on plastics recycling

April 10, 2009 in section: Blog by Mrs Green with 2506 views

american-chemistry-council I’ve been invited to participate as a key contributor to The American Chemistry Council’s second Blog Summit this year!

I quote: “With your passion for reducing waste through the Zero Waste initiative, your  participation in the summit will help to bring great value and personal experience to the discussions within the Blog Summit.”

Last year’s blog summit was on energy efficiency and this year the focus is on the importance of plastics recycling.

As well as the importance of plastics recycling, discussions will focus on comparisons to reducing and reusing, consumer education about recycling and the future of recycling in today’s society. And, based on contributor and reader feedback, there will be opportunities to propose additional topics of conversation, if appropriate.

The summit contributors so far amount to about a dozen of us including mainstream media, environmentalists, NGOs, government officials, academia and eco-bloggers.

There will be a new website launched soon for the summit to take place, so I’ll let you know where I’ll be hanging out for a month and I hope you’ll come along and show your support.

Have a think about whether you have any burning questions, as this is a great opportunity to pitch your thoughts to a target audience.

As a fellow participant of the summit I look forward to your participation. I also added My Zero Waste to my blogroll. Perhaps I’ll paddle my canoe across the pond to visit someday. Then again…

    Mrs Green,

Congratulations on the recognition for your website. We can all support your participation there. The chance to reach a bigger audience can only help grow the Zero Waste trend.

I looked over the American blog and was pleased to see discussions on the safety of plastics. This is one factor which has been overlooked until recently with the BisPhenol A problems.

I visited the ACC blog and saw your picture and the excellent bio (write-up), with your details. It is indicated that you can raise posts about the plastic recycling issue as the first topic. Joining-in and supporting your posts will be ace.
